GREG STURGEON
Greg began practice more than forty years ago with a small trial practice firm. Early on he gained substantial experience in litigation with cases as varied as personal injury, employment discrimination, creditor’s rights, and commercial disputes. In the eighties, Greg joined Coldwell Banker Commercial (now CBRE) as Regional Counsel before transitioning to managing broker for the Nashville, Tennessee and the Atlanta Northeast offices. There he hired trained and managed men and women for one of the best commercial real estate brokers in the nation.
Over the years Greg’s practice has evolved and has included a variety of matters involving business litigation, business formation and commercial real estate. Today Greg concentrates his practice in commercial real estate matters and business transactions.
Greg received his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh where he served as President of his class and on the Moot Court Board. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia where he majored in history and was a member of the varsity football team. For many years Greg has been peer review rated “AV” by the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, its highest rating.
RECOMMENDATIONS
I’ve known Greg Sturgeon for more than thirty years as a friend, mentor, colleague and client. As a commercial real estate broker for more than twenty-five years, I’ve dealt with many different lawyers including Greg on both commercial sales and leases.
Greg has the knowledge, experience and skill usually associated with the biggest firms while providing service associated with the smallest. He is highly responsive and able to guide transactions to a successful conclusion.
He has acted as my personal attorney on several transactions and I’ve always found his advice to be prompt, sound and insightful. I highly recommend using him for commercial real estate matters.
Letter of Recommendation

Over the years I have known Greg both personally and professionally having used him to represent me on several business issues. As a result of his experience Greg provides a unique insight into real estate and business matters, and he has a very personal relationship with his clients. Those I have referred are not only grateful to have Greg as an attorney, but as a friend as well.
During my dealings with Greg he has always been calm and thoughtful while remaining concerned for my business and personal situation. Greg is the kind of attorney that will help you make a business deal and not lose one!

Greg was recommended to us by another attorney as someone who could help us when the debtor of our purchase money mortgage on a unique hotel property in an upscale neighborhood sought Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. His clear and practical advise resulted in the purchase of the property from the bankruptcy trustee, settlement and cancellation of a tax deed, and new loan with the debtor’s primary lender which allowed us to operate the hotel and preserve our investment. Over the course of multiple years he fought off neighborhood attempts to close the hotel for violation of zoning laws, helped with negotiations when the property was resold to a new buyer, then forced the payoff of our purchase money mortgage following a fire which partially destroyed the building. He turned what would have been a big loss into a substantial gain. In short, he saved our bacon. I would highly recommend him.
